Heavenly Beauty When I started of writing poetry (without being officially inaugurated into), aged 15, I did not have a style. I loved reading bygone poets, in particular romantic poets, like Shakespeare, Milton, Keats & Chaucer and as a result I was greatly influenced by the styles of these poets especially of the great Bard. Below is my rendering of this famous sonnet: Shakespeare dedicated to his dark mistress, I to my hindu wife. © Mahesh Patel 24/08/78

Dried & Decayed I still distinctly remember writing this poem as it earned me a crispy twenty pound note for a Valentine competition in the Institute’s students magazine at Cranfield. © Mahesh Patel 10/01/1986
